Garud Puran Path
About Garud Puran Path
Garuda Purana Path is the recitation of selected chapters from the Garuda Purana, one of the eighteen Mahapuranas, presented as a dialogue between Lord Vishnu and Garuda. It discusses the nature of life, dharma, karma, devotion, and the spiritual journey of the soul. Traditionally, the recitation is arranged after the passing of a family member as part of the period of remembrance. Many families also organize the Path during the 10th, 11th, 12th, or 13th day ceremonies, Barsi (Varshik Shradh), or other ancestral observances. Some devotees also arrange the recitation at other times for spiritual learning and reflection. The discourse helps family members understand the importance of righteous living, compassion, charity, devotion, and the impermanent nature of life. It offers spiritual guidance and encourages positive values while remembering the departed with reverence. Our learned Pandits conduct the recitation with clear explanations in simple language, enabling everyone present to understand the teachings and participate meaningfully. The ceremony may include Ganesh Puja, Sankalp, Vishnu Puja, Garuda Purana Path, question-and-answer session (if requested), peace prayers, and Aarti.
