About Antyeshti Sanskar- Last Rites

Antim Sanskar, also known as Antyeshti Sanskar, is the final of the sixteen traditional Hindu Sanskars (Shodasha Samskaras). It is performed with reverence to bid a respectful farewell to the departed soul while praying for peace, dignity, and spiritual well-being. According to Hindu traditions, the ceremony symbolizes the return of the physical body to the five elements (Panch Mahabhutas) and includes prayers for the onward spiritual journey of the departed soul. The rituals are conducted according to the family's regional traditions, sampradaya (tradition), and customs, under the guidance of an experienced Vedic Pandit. Our Pandits guide the family through every step of the ceremony with compassion, ensuring that the rituals are performed respectfully while helping family members understand the significance of each ritual. The ceremony generally includes Sankalp, Vedic prayers, Antyeshti rituals, Mukhagni (where applicable), Kapal Kriya (where traditionally followed), concluding prayers, and guidance regarding subsequent rituals.
